General directions
Multi-part tray mounts
Use this guide to assemble your multi-part tray wall mount, attach the tray to its supplied brackets, and secure the completed mount to the wall before placing your set. Bracket style and quantity vary by product. Read through the steps first and follow any additional instructions included with your specific mount.
Before you start
Tools needed
- Screwdriver with a bit that fits the supplied screws
- Level
- Fine-tip pen or pencil
- Stud finder, if needed
- Drill and drill bit, if needed for your screws or anchors
- Tape measure, if needed
Parts & hardware
- 1 tray matched to your set
- Supplied wall bracket(s), such as wedge-shaped or slim L-shaped brackets
- Included M3 screws and washers for attaching the tray to the bracket(s)
- Wall-mounting screws and any required anchors (included only if ordered)
Check your parts and separate the hardware
Lay out the tray, all supplied brackets, and the included M3 screws and washers before you begin. Check that the tray and brackets match the mount you ordered and that the printed parts are free from visible damage. Keep the assembly hardware and wall-mounting hardware separate: the M3 screws and washers attach the tray to the brackets; the wall screws and anchors secure the assembled mount to the wall. The M3 assembly screws are not substitutes for wall-mounting screws. If you did not order wall hardware, have suitable screws and any required anchors ready before installation. Leave your set off the tray until the mount is fully assembled and securely installed.
Position the brackets against the tray
Work on a stable surface with the tray empty. Find the tray-to-bracket attachment holes and match them to the holes in each supplied bracket. The number and spacing of brackets depend on your product; use all brackets supplied for that tray. For wedge-shaped brackets, orient the thicker end downward so the bracket supports the tray in its intended position. For slim L-shaped brackets, the upright section sits against the wall and the projecting section supports the tray. Check the orientation against any product-specific illustration supplied with your mount. Bring the matching faces together and align the attachment holes without forcing or bending the printed parts. If the holes do not line up, stop and check the bracket position and orientation before inserting screws.
Attach the tray with the M3 screws and washers
Use the included M3 screws and washers to fasten the tray to its brackets. Place a washer under each screw head, then pass the screw through the tray attachment hole and into the matching bracket hole. Start each screw gently, keeping it straight. Leave the screws slightly loose until all required attachment screws are in place; this allows the screw holes and the surfaces of the tray and brackets to line up. Tighten the screws gradually and evenly with the correct screwdriver until the tray is securely attached to every bracket. Stop when the parts sit firmly together. Do not overtighten, crush the printed surfaces, or force a screw that resists. Check each connection for gaps or movement before lifting the assembled mount. Keep the tray empty throughout the wall installation.
Choose the location and mark the wall
Choose a location with enough room for the full size of your set, including any parts that extend beyond its base. Allow room to place and remove the set without striking the wall, ceiling, or nearby objects. Where practical, position the wall screws over a wall stud. Use a stud finder if needed. If a wall screw cannot go into a stud, use an anchor suitable for the wall material and the load it will support. Hold the empty assembled mount against the wall in its intended orientation. Use a level to align the mounting points, while keeping any intentionally angled tray at its designed angle. Mark every required wall-mounting hole for each bracket. Ask someone to support the assembly if it is awkward to hold while marking. Set the mount aside before preparing the wall.
Prepare the wall for screws and anchors
Check that the screws and anchors you plan to use are appropriate for the wall and the completed display. Follow the screw or anchor manufacturer’s instructions for hole size, drilling depth, anchor installation, and screw compatibility. If anchors are required, prepare the marked holes and fit the anchors as directed. For screws going into a stud, prepare any pilot holes required by the screw manufacturer. Check for concealed wiring or pipes before drilling. Keep the mounting-hole locations aligned with the marks you made from the assembled mount. If an anchor spins, a hole is damaged, or a screw or anchor will not hold securely, correct the problem before attaching the mount. Do not rely on tightening harder to repair a loose screw or anchor.
Secure the assembled mount to the wall
Support the empty mount and align each bracket’s wall-mounting holes with the prepared positions. Insert the appropriate wall-mounting screws and start them before fully tightening any one screw. Use all wall-mounting holes required for the supplied brackets. Check the assembly’s alignment, then tighten the wall screws gradually until the brackets are held securely against the wall. Keep the mount supported while tightening. Avoid overtightening or forcing the printed brackets to bend against an uneven surface. Gently check the empty mount for rocking or movement, and check that the tray-to-bracket M3 connections remain secure. Do not pull on the tray or hang extra weight from it as a test. If a bracket moves, a wall screw or anchor loosens, or the tray does not sit as intended, stop and resolve the issue before placing your set.
Place your set and check the finished display
Support your set with both hands and place it carefully onto the tray intended for that model. Position its base within the supported area and use any locating features or placement instructions supplied with your specific mount. Keep the weight balanced over the tray rather than concentrated on an unsupported edge. Gradually release your support only after the set is fully seated and stable. Check that the tray remains secure, every bracket stays firmly against the wall, and the set does not rock, slide, or tip. Keep the tray at its designed display angle. Do not add improvised spacers, bend the brackets, or loosen the wall screws to create a steeper angle. An unstable position can allow the set to fall and cause damage or injury. If the set shifts or the mount moves, support and remove the set before checking the installation. Support the set whenever you reposition it. If you notice movement, cracking, or loosening later, remove the set and inspect the tray, brackets, M3 assembly screws, wall screws, and anchors before using the display again.
